Looking Good
Robertson Lake is typically one of the guaranteed go-to places in south Algoma for early season snowmobiling. Coincidentally, it's less than 30 minutes from Sault Ste. Marie, which makes it quite convenient for quick access to a ride location, allowing to scratch the 1st of-the-season itch. Time-and-time again, there is seldom anyone out this early in the snowmobile season at Roberston Lake and I've been coming here each November for the past 20+ years verifying this.

Packing Trails
What a great night to be out packing trails!. The snow is light and powdery, which is much preferred compared to the wet, heavy, sticky stuff. The Robertson Lake parking lot is at 870' elevation and the snow is more than adequate. The good news kept coming as I headed over to the abandoned Sill Lake mine. More snow...much more and of course the 1230' elevation is helpful.

Robertson Lake Road
For years, the Robertston Lake road wasn't being plowed beyond the bus turnaround. However, in recent years, it's now being plowed right into Robertson Lake. The total distance from highway 17 into Robertson Lake is 6 kms.
