    Rideable - December 1st

On this day trip, I ran two routes, the 1st one was the west side of highway 129 that stretches south paralleling the Mississagi River. The pine-spruce terrain is a nice mixture of twists, turns and straights including an elevation climb to the 1500' level. The 2nd route of the day was the east-side of highway 129, down the Black Creek road heading to the Kindiogami Road that leads toward the direction of Elliot Lake. I branched off into Aubrey Lake to check out the lake with beautiful rolling hills in the background. The trip wrapped up with a night ride back out to the parked staging area, then loaded up and drive down to Thessalon and back to Sault Ste. Marie. Another truly wonderful day of snowmobiling in the Black Creek / Aubrey Falls region.

Scenic 129 - The Trip to Black Creek

So, if you're trailering in from the south, how do you get to Black Creek Outfitters? Thessalon, Ontario is where the turn off is, as you head north on Highway 129. The first 32 km stretch is fresh pavement laid down this past summer, right to the Kynoch turnoff. The real joy of the road trip kicks in when the highway drops down to and sweeps along the majestic Mississagi River. For the next 24 kms you get an opportunity to drive through some breath-taking, scenic views of twists and turns with panoramic mountain bluffs on both sides of the river staring at you.
